Starbucks Teacher Gift

Tuesday, May 29, 2012
Tomorrow is the Cutie Patootie's last day of Kindergarten!!  I can't seem to wrap my head around it.  This year has flown by!!  C has learned SO much, and she is SO excited to be a big time first grader next year.

C loved her teacher this year, so for a last day teacher gift she is bringing her a Starbucks gift card wrapped in this creative way:

I love this FREE printable by alphamom.  Just print, hand write your teacher's name and check the order boxes with a permanent marker,  and wrap around the smallest size Starbucks cup.  (starbucks will happily give you an empty cup when purchasing your gift card.)
I did add a bright red ribbon to the cup to give it a fun pop of color.

Mr. M is 3!!!

It's hard to believe that my little guy is 3 today!!!
At times he can be a hand full, but he always makes it up with telling me he loves me 500 hundred times a day...literally.  He has always been my sweet cuddly little baby that LOVES his mama and daddy.  He is the best mix of all boy playing with trucks, dinos and super heros and then turns right around and wants to hold my hand and hug me constatntly..... I love that about him.

Happy Birthday sweet M.

Mama Like: Doodles at Lunch and Dinner

Monday, May 7, 2012
One of my oldest friends gave the Cutie Patootie these awesome doodle pads for her 6th Birthday.
As most of you may know, I LOVE coming across unique and creative gift ideas for kids.
These are GREAT!!!

Artist and illustrator Deborah Zemke has several versions of these doodle pads out.
The pad is the size of a standard place mat and each page is in fact sturdy enough to be a place mat.  Perfect to use at home,  at a restaurant, or even doodle before bedtime (like C and I like to do).
Each page has an easy step by step doodle tutorial with everything thing from animals to airplanes.  You can find these doodle pads on amazon and barnes and noble, just to name a few.

Here is a look at the inside of  C's doodle pad.  C loves doodling, and yes, I am guilty of doodling right along side of her.... and yes, I self admittedly have been known to color in her coloring books as well, ha!

Thanks for such a great gift, LB!!!

6th Birthday PAR-TEE

Friday, May 4, 2012

This past weekend was the Cutie Patootie's 6th Birthday party.   The party had a preppy golf theme and was held at our local miniature golf course.  As promised,  here is a look at all of the easy to create and colorful details:

The Invitation

I just LOVED how these invitations by Jane at BugLuv turned out.
When placing my custom order I gave Jane just a few ideas I had (argyle pattern, color profile, and punny wording). When she sent the proof to this invitation my way, I was thrilled.... It was exactly what I was envisioning!!!  Jane TOTALLY gets my style!
Thanks Jane!!!!

The Birthday Girl

The Party Details
The party had a preppy golf theme.  As the party goers arrived they each picked out a visor to wear, instead of a traditional party hat.  After the kids played 18 holes of golf they came to the party room to enjoy pizza, lemonade, and cupcakes.

The Table Decor:
Lavender and lime green table clothes were decorated with flower pots of real zinnias.  I loved that the flowers brought the outdoors in.  I created golf balls out of Styrofoam balls to accent the flower pots.
The tables were sprinkled with golf tees instead of confetti.   Extra visors were spread around the tables to add pops of color.  Lavender, bright pink, and lime green balloons spread color around the plain party room as well.
I created this custom canvas for the food table.  I wanted to reinforce the preppy golf theme by mimicking the invitation design.

The Cupcakes
I made homemade confetti cupcakes with buttercream icing.  I piped the icing on the cupcakes to look like grass on a golf green.  A Holland mint made the perfect golf ball.  The cupcakes were then topped with a golf flag (created by bugluv) with the letter C and the number 6.

The Party Favors
The party favors were powdered sugar doughnut hole in ones. They were nestled on top of grass (Easter grass) in lime green take-out boxes.  The take-out boxes worked out great and kept the doughnut holes from getting smushed.   The adorable coordinating  labels were created by bugluv
